East Wenatchee, WA – Chelan-Douglas Health District would like to remind community members of all ages to stay up-to-date on their immunizations. Vaccines are crucial in preventing the spread of infectious diseases and protecting the community as a whole.
With school right around the corner, there are several reasons to get immunized. Keeping your family and others healthy, protecting your loved ones from diseases, and more importantly, to stop the spread of disease to the most vulnerable populations, are great reminders of the importance of vaccinations.
Immunizations are safe and effective in preventing a variety of illness. Including:
• Chicken pox
• Influenza
• Measles
• Mumps
• Meningitis
• Pertussis (whooping cough)
Stephanie Snitily who is the Regional Immunization Coordinator said, “Immunizations remain one of the easiest measures we have to protect the health of an individual and the community across the lifespan.”
Local medical providers and retail pharmacies offer immunizations to children and adults. These clinics may or may not charge an administration and office visit fee.
