Wenatchee, WA – The Chelan-Douglas Health District has added free drive-thru COVID-19 testing dates to those already planned for November in response to an influx of testing being done at local medical centers.
This week, both Confluence Health and Cascade Medical reported increases in people seeking COVID-19 testing. The drive-thru dates are being added to ease that demand. Chelan and Douglas counties have seen a surge in COVID-19 cases. At this time, the health district is reporting a rate of 632.5 cases per 100,000 people in the last 14 days.
Testing will be done at the Wenatchee High School, 1101 Millerdale Ave. Testing will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 20-22, Nov. 25 and Nov. 27-30.
In addition, drive-thru testing is available this week at Cashmere High School, 329 Tigner Road. Testing is 3 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 20. The testing was set up for farmworkers who are leaving the area; however, the general public can use the site.
In December, testing is planned at the high school from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 19-20. Additional dates may be added in December. Watch the Chelan-Douglas Health District website, which is updated regularly with testing dates.
People are asked to call Confluence Health, Cascade Medical, Columbia Valley Community Health or Lake Chelan Health if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. If you know you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, consider using the drive-up testing site at Wenatchee High School.
Online pre-registration is preferred, but not required, for the Wenatchee High School testing site, which is being operated by Lifeline Ambulance. Pre-registration will reduce time at the testing site; onsite registration is available.
